New Zealand Farm Environment Awards
The New Zealand Farm Environment Award Trust is an independent non-profit organisation which seeks to advance sustainable environmental management of land and other resources on farms. The Trust owns and operates the Ballance Farm Environment Awards (BFEA) and manages several extension projects. The independence of the Trust provides a platform for strong partnerships with other businesses that share our values and also seek to promote good management of the Farm Environment.
On the 27 June the Sustainabilty Showcase was held in Palmeston North, it bought together the 8 regional Supreme Winners and celebrated their sucess. The first NZFEA and MAF Scholarship was also announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Jim Anderton, to read his address follow this link. The winner was David Ward from Canterbury, his study project will focus on the use of lucerne as either a cut-and-carry forage crop or for grazing for dairy farms and dairy support blocks.
